82nd Airborne Division
The 82nd Airborne Division is an active airborne infantry division of the United States Army specializing in parachute landing operations. Based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 82nd Airborne Division is the primary fighting arm of the XVIII Airborne Corps.  The 82nd Division was constituted in the National Army on 5 August 1917, and was organized on 25 August 1917, at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Since its initial members came from all 48 states, the unit acquired the nickname "All-American", which is the basis for its famed “AA” shoulder patch.

101st Airborne Division
The 101st Airborne Division was activated August 16, 1942 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.  Its first Commanding General, Major General William C. Lee, noted that the Division had no history, but that it had a “rendezvous with destiny” and that the new Division would be habitually called into action when the need was ‘immediate and extreme”.  Throughout its 66-year history, the Division has amassed a proud record, in both war and peace, unmatched by any other unit.
